I think many people on this planet look at a question like 'why make changes in your life" and say to themselves, "I'm fine. I don't need to make any changes in my life." Does this sound like you? That quote sounded like me for the better part of fifteen years. And then something happened……my daughter was born. For some reason, when she incarnated into this world, I made some fairly drastic changes in my life. First off I decided that I wouldn't drink alcohol any more. Not cut back, and still have a few drinks if I really felt like it, because what would that hurt? No, I decided to stop completely. Something inside of me told me that I couldn't teach her not to drink, while she saw me drinking. This was a pretty big shift for me, seeing as how I would drink a couple of beers (at least) on most days. The second thing that I did was to quit smoking. I had smoked for fifteen years and had tried to quit a couple of times with no lasting effects. Then my daughter came to live with me and the cigarettes were done. Although I had been contemplating actually quitting for years, once Cameron came it was over. Just as with the drinking, I couldn't see myself telling her not to smoke while she saw me lighting up a cancer stick. I just wasn't going to be that guy. The third and probably most important thing I did was to change my thinking. For the past three years I've been studying things such as the Science of Mind, A Course in Miracles, Wayne Dyer, Anthony Robbins, and many more. Through my study of these things, my thinking has changed. For the better? I suppose that's not for me to decide, but I would imagine my daughter doesn't mind. So, what is the answer to the question, 'why make changes in your life?' Do I have some profound metaphysical point to close this article with? No, not really. I simply know that making changes in your life can have a dramatic effect on every aspect of your life. That's more than likely the answer to the question. Why? Because you can.
